Travel Cost Override

If you do not need TREDIS to calculate costs for you and already have total savings calculated, you may enter this data directly into TREDIS instead of entering travel data on the primary Travel page. This is an option for users with more comprehensive travel demand models. This option is not available for O-D Based Projects.

You can access this mode by clicking the Set to Override Mode button on the main Travel screen. Before proceeding, you will see a warning message telling you that any inputs you have entered on the main page are no longer being used.

Override Costs

Total cost levels are on the Override Costs tab.

  • Passenger Cost. Total costs due to traveling passengers.

  • Crew Cost. Total crew costs (drivers and other workers), including benefits and other non-wage compensation.

  • Freight Cost. Total cost of moving of freight.

  • Reliability Cost. Total cost of reliability.

  • Veh Operating Cost. Total vehicle operating costs.

  • Toll Cost. Total of all tolls incurred for this mode.

  • Safety Cost. Total cost of safety incidents and crashes.

  • Environmental Cost. Total cost of emissions.

Override Flow

Fractional flows are entered on the Override Flow tab to distribute the costs entered on the override Costs tab discussed directly above.

  • Fraction of Trips: Internal. The fraction of annual trips that begin and end within the Region.

  • Fraction of Trips: Incoming. The fraction of annual trips that begin outside the Region and have their destination in the Region.

  • Fraction of Trips: Outgoing. The fraction of annual trips that originating within the Region but terminate externally.

  • Fraction of Trips: Through. The fraction of annual trips that have both their origin and destinations outside the Region, where the vehicle passes through.
